The Kremlin said on Monday it wanted an apology from Fox News over what it said were "unacceptable" comments one of the channel's presenters made about Russian President Vladimir Putin in an interview with U.S. counterpart Donald Trump.
Fox News host Bill O'Reilly described Putin as "a killer" in the interview with Trump as he tried to press the U.S. president to explain more fully why he respected his Russian counterpart. O'Reilly did not say who he thought Putin had killed.
"We consider such words from the Fox TV company to be unacceptable and insulting, and honestly speaking, we would prefer to get an apology from such a respected TV company," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on a conference call.
Fox News and O'Reilly did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment.
Trump's views on Putin are closely scrutinized in the United States where U.S. intelligence agencies have accused Moscow of having sponsored computer hacking to help Trump win office, and critics say he is too complimentary about the Russian leader.
Trump, when commenting on the allegations against Putin in the same interview, questioned how "innocent" the United States itself was, saying it had made a lot of its own mistakes. That irritated some Congressional Republicans who said there was no comparison between how Russian and U.S. politicians behaved.

>In part, and for real. We should never forget it. He and his crew are a bunch of killers.
>We are too, in ways... but we typically don’t murder news reporters. The Hildabeast simply pressures that they be fired...
There’s more than a few dead leakers and low level reporters that Hillary probably had killed. And frankly there probably more evidence of Hillary’s killings than Putin’s. Never forgot that most of the news we get on Russia is from the MSN and they never stop lying.
Is American politics as brutal of Russian politics? No. But it’s not as clean as we think. The media refuses to report on politically motivated murders from the left. I’m a firm believer in cleaning our own house before we start throwing stones at other houses.
>Mikhail Lesin, co-founder of the Russian government-controlled news outlet “Russia Today” (RT), which the FR Putinistas often link to in their threads, was found dead in a Wash DC hotel in November 2015.
>Word is he had had a falling out with Putin and was about to become an informer, a ‘snitch’. Putin’s Russia is very much like the Mafia.
>RT (Russia Today) and the other Moscow-controlled media outlets reported at the time that there were no signs of foul play—that he died of a heart attack.
>However, when the autopsy report came out 4 months later (Mar 2016) it was revealed that he actually died of blunt force trauma to the head, neck and torso.
>Whether Putin had him murdered or not is not clear. However, just the way that these state-run media outlets in Russia operate is cause enough for alarm. Check out below how this guy, under Putin’s direction, seized control of Russia’s once independent news outlets.
So you’re saying that Putin killed a guy who turned traitor against Russia? Wouldn’t you want the same from us against people who turn traitor against the US? In fact have a policy to drone such people to death.
And of course Putin's state-run media can be counted on to tell you the "truth". Like when they reported that the founder of RT (Russia Today) had died of a heart attack, when an autopsy report 4 months later revealed he had died as a result of blunt force trauma to the head, neck and torso. But I suppose these signs could have been 'mistaken' for those of a heart attack.
We have neocons here on FR who supported that outrage. They are the same people who hate Russia and sympathize with illegal aliens.
Got an example of New Testament foreign policy you wish to share?

You and other neo-cons make this charge a lot, but I’ve rarely read RT and believe it about as much as I believe our own media. One of the most disturbing discoveries I made in my 20s was how much of our news is just lies and misdirection. People who believe our media isn’t lying to them 24/7 are just as dumb as the people who don’t think Russia media isn’t lying to them 24/7.
Anyone remember the media reporting on the WACO slaughter? Go review it sometime and then consider that the lies and distortions that happened there happen just as much about foreign events, if not more so. Additionally, when it comes to foreign reporting the CIA has quite a few reporters in their pay and they reliably report whatever the CIA wants from time to time.
Now consider how we form our view of Russia and other nations. The majority of we know comes from the lying MSN and in some cases, CIA paid reporters. This tends to leave us with a one sided view how events went down as I just demonstrated with ETL’s stink up about a Russian defector Putin may have had killed.
ETL screams Putin murdered a Journalist but from the Russian perspective they killed a traitor living in America just as America kills our traitors/enemies living in other countries. I can’t justify being outraged when we do the same damn thing.
>> the left hates Putin because of the way he treats gays in Russia. This is all about gay rights.<<
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
That’s an interesting observation.
To the left, “gay rights” (and every other conceivable minority/victim group) are all about destruction of family, church and local community values . . . all to make room for global government.
So yeah.
First, I said Putin MAY have ordered his assassination. Second, if he in fact did have him murdered it would likely have been to prevent him from spilling the beans on Putin. Third, when are you Putin defenders/apologists ever going to get it into your heads that the guy runs an evil expansionist dictatorship. His goal is to basically restore the Soviet Union and then-some with positions in the Middle East and again in Latin America.. He is allied with the worst of the worst regimes on earth, many still communist or hard left. Obviously islamo-nazi as well (Iran), etc.
As long as that doesn't turn into silencing critical observation of Putin's Russia, or any other tyrant (it does not matter if they are tyrannical only part of the time -- and may even be correct enough at other times) then be my guest.
He (Putin) DID send "little green men" (Russian soldiers with no insignia on their uniforms) into the Crimean peninsula prior to elections there --- which were likely rigged --rigged enough to ensure the outcome preferred by Putin and his oligarch bosom buds.
Make no mistake. The man does not play patty-cake. He and his peeps are bone-killin' thug. The high-grade kind. The real pros.
You may call that "throwing stones". I wouldn't much care. Except to tell you -- if you come visit my house hoping to press the issue -- be sure to knock, smile, say "cheese", and don't forget to wait for the flash.
O’Reilly is lower than a snake
The question was designed to make Trump look bad.
And give BOR attention.
He doesn’t care what the negative outcome is, as long as his name gets platered all over the place.
Today’s factor show will probably have him gloating at wat a good job he did embarrassing Trump; all the while making him look like an alt-Left troll.
Your PDS (Putin Derangement Syndrome) is showing again. Forget your meds?
The Bushes, Clintons & Obama have “undoubtedly had people killed” too. But without proof, these are just heresay claims.
Exactly right!
When you have other than innuendo and accusation (like something to back up the insinuations & accusations -- If you are including me in those) then point it out to me.
Maybe instead you could try your hand at rational discussion rather than ad hominem type of "attack"?
“KGB agents........its what they do.”
And what do CIA agents do? Choir boys??
Just not on FR. [snort]
Who cares what other cesspit websites you visit?
