AMMAN Royal Air Force jets on Friday destroyed various targets of the Daesh terrorist group in southern Syria, a Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army statement said Saturday, cited by the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
One of the targets was a military site that previously belonged to the Syrian army and was seized by Daesh, the statement said, adding that the attack was dedicated to the memory of those who died in the line of duty in the war against terrorism.
The Royal Air Forces unmanned jet fighter planes destroyed ammunition warehouses, a structure designated to customising and booby-trapping vehicles and barracks built for Daesh members.
The operation resulted in killing and injuring several members of the terrorist group as well as the destruction of a number of vehicles.
The air strikes are a continuation of the Kingdom's efforts to eliminate the terrorist group and to show the khawarij [outlaws of Islam], that they will be targeted constantly until they are eradicated, the statement added.
Jordan is part of the US-led international coalition to fight Daesh, which has killed several Jordanian citizens and servicemen in attacks over the past two years.
I was told recently they have had an awakening about the Muslim Brotherhood. Read a strong term statement about parting ways with them.
I thought Jordan was always pretty reasonable.
I thought Jordan was always pretty reasonable.

They have been. So has Egypt. But Obama showed little support for those nations.
Sometimes the king of Jordan takes part in military operations like flying jets and such....
He is a true “warrior king”.
so now Syria has Iranian, Iraqi, Syrian, Syrian Islamicist ‘rebel’ gangs, Kurdish, Jordan, Turkey, USA, Russia, UK, France, the Hezbellah terrorist murder gang, and an occasional IDF air strike against missiles going to Hezbellah..and....did I leave anyone out of the fighting?
(I probably did)
not too good for the tourist business?
I think it’s a mistake to think Jordan was ever enamored with the Muslim Brotherhood.
If you think about it, Jordan’s leadership is very stable and does not want the region destabilized. They know better than most what that leads to. They’ve had problems with the PLO, the Arabs in the region that are now on the West Bank and in Gaza.
A few years back, the Muslim Brotherhood was trying to destabilize Jordan’s leadership.
They got nowhere.
Jordan has been leaning toward kicking them out since 2015. (ordering offices closed)
Sisi in Egypt is a gem. Very courageous man. Trump talked to him very shortly after taking office. I was very impressed with the wisdom of that move.
They had relations with the Muslim Brotherhood until very recently. It was a clean break with a justified reason.
But Yes, they have a good reputation.
The King himself has retaliated against ISIS for some Jordanians that ISIS beheaded.
I only posted this because I think it is an indicator of a growing group effort to eradicate these animals. ISIS atrocities are subhuman.
I’m not suggesting otherwise, but recently it became a very clean break. I read the words the King used. They will not be back in Jordan. Just like Sisi in Egypt.
The Muslim Brotherhood is a terrorist organization. We will eventually recognize that also. Obama never would, but it is coming.
The First Palestinian State
Oh. You didn’t know there was a First Palestinian State?
It’s not necessary to go back to 1964 when, with Egypt’s help, the PLO (Palestinian Liberation Organization) was formed - with the sole intent of engaging in terror for the purpose of conquering the Jewish State, with the assistance of all the Arab/Muslim nations. Those goals of the PLO have not changed.(1) Yasser Arafat was elected Chairman of the PLO in 1969.
Arafat and his terrorists ended up in the Kingdom of Jordan after a series of unsuccessful wars by the Arab/Muslim nations against Israel. There, they arrogantly walked the streets of Amman well-armed and with supreme confidence. They intimidated the people of Jordan. Between 1967 and 1971, the PLO challenged King Hussein for political control of Jordan. Hussein made 26 agreements to keep the Peace. Arafat signed them all and broke them all. The last straw would be when Arafat put out a kill order for King Hussein’s brother, who commanded the Jordanian Army and, particularly, the special Bedouin troops who had clashed numerous times with Arafat’s thugs. This was not going to be Arafat’s State by coup d’etat, but it was a lesson in his MO (Modus Operandi).
Hussein’s Army was called up and a memorable slaughter of Arafat’s followers took place, an event the Arab Palestinians called “Black September”.(2) The major conflict began in September 1970, but took 17 months until Arafat’s terrorists fled, mostly into Lebanon. However, many crossed the Jordan and were rescued by Israeli settling pioneers on the west side of the Jordan River...

No tourism in Syria for a long time. And it has some interesting historic sites. If it were not for the war, it would draw interest. But it is a very brutal multifaceted war.
Almost no good guys, lots and lots of bad guys.
Do you remember when Lebanon was considered the Jewel of the Middle East? I do. Then the Civil war and occupation. Never again will be same.
There never was a Palestinian People. There was once a name on a UN map called Palestine.
But I did learn from you statement of the conflict with Arafat.
Thanks for the additional comments.
Not sure what implied to you that I didn’t know that Jordan had problems with the PLO and the Arabs that now reside on the West Bank and in Gaza.
Many of those folks lived in Jordan. As you state, Arafat and company got their asses kicked out of Jordan.
Did anyone pick up on the “unmanned fighter jets” ??
Pretty impressive and confidence building if beyond immediate radio control.
Just posted that excerpt of an article in Israeli National News as an update for anyone who didn’t know the history.
You brought up the subject.
Sorry to have addressed you.
I didn’t write it.
The line ‘So you didn’t know there was a Palestinian State’ was the introduction to the article as published.
Someone wee we in your cereal?
I did not pick up on that part. Yikes.
“Do you remember when Lebanon was considered the Jewel of the Middle East?”
I do, had a stop over in Beirut, Lebanon in 1968. Very clean, modern & safe city.
