I like Sabra hummus and am a strong proponent of Israel. Those UC scum voting against ‘hummus’ are merely ignorant fools whose parents need to cut off their tuition and allowance monies.

I had no idea that Sabra was 1/2 owned by an Israeli investor. When I buy hummus from now on, I will look for the Sabra label.

It is indeed half owned by an Israeli firm but is also half owned by FRITO-LAY, another American company.
Sabra hummus is made in USA (main factory in Virginia as I recall, employing American workers.
There is a connection back in the ownership chain, yes, but to call Sabra hummus “Israeli hummus” is simply untrue.
Its an American product made by an American company and American workers and distributed by American truck drivers to American grocery stores and yes, some American college campuses. And I bet since the plant is in Virginia it uses American garbonza beans (the main ingredient) too, tho I have not followed the beans back from the factory to the fields. AND NEITHER HAVE THESE IGNORANT “students” I bet, ha!

I’ve tried a couple of Sabra flavors and all I can say is yuck!
I was introduced to hummus by my sister in law who makes the best. No unnecessary ingredients. Just chickpeas, a little garlic, fresh lemon juice, salt and olive oil (if I remember correctly) that spoiled me for anything else.
The closest I can find is our local Blue Moose brand. I don’t know if they sell outside of Colorado, but if they do, I highly recommend their original hummus.
That’ll teach God, they think.
