When it comes to its treatment of anarchist protesters like the ones who trashed Sproul Plaza the other night, UC Berkeleys attitude amounts to this: Wed rather deal with broken windows than broken heads.

The number one function of law enforcement seems to be to protect the state.
The UC insurance carrier may be interested in the cavalier attitude they take with regard to protection of property.
If you’re going to tell the cops to back down and not do their jobs then you should make laws making it legal for citizens to shoot dead those who would harm them or damage their property.
It has to be one or the other because the option of letting the thugs have their way is NOT AN OPTION.
I’m sure Adams IDed the prof privately to the poobahs at Berkeley. When a person like SA decides to withdraw 100% of their financial support, they’d want that decision to carry maximum impact. I read Adams’ blog version of what happened, but without doubt there was an up close and personal version between himself and the Berkeley administrators re his financial about face. You can count on that.

The police are not there to protect you personally from anything and now it seems they are not there to protect private property either.
What are they there for?
THIS ^^^^^
This is what is the main thing. From Clinton on down, there is, in effect, no rule of law. There are, in effect, no borders. There is, in effect, no police, no courts, no judges ... no Constitution if it is not enforced and end enforced fairly for all.
We are living in a time of no rule of law. When people start asking why they should obey the law if others are not required to, there is no rule of law.
That’s fine, law enforcement then his boss in that order. When a state employee (the professor) threatens you, you should file a report with the state police. Since it’s a verbal threat it probably won’t go anywhere, but still on record and if something does happen, the professor becomes a person of interest and their life becomes very complicated.
