Just my guess.... I have always suspected that Reich and Napolitano were being “inventoried” with high-paying jobs in the University of California.
At the appropriate time, they could spring to life with new positions in the judiciary.
Seems like their home turf has developed a noticeable stink after Hillary’s loss and the Berkeley riots.

Leftists always insist that “real socialists” are “democratic socialists”, their illusion that pigs are not, in fact, pigs.
Right now, for example, American socialists insist that Hugo Chavez of Venezuela wasn’t a “real socialist”, even though he hosted an international conclave of socialist parties who agreed that he was the most doctrinaire socialist about.
He even proposed the creation of a “Fifth International”, a gigantic communist-socialist effort to standardize socialist doctrines.
This is the context of my new sig line, a sarcastic parody of their “democratic socialism” is “real socialism” nonsense.
