Is Trump Being Sabotaged By The Pentagon?
Zero Hedge ^ | 2-2-2017 | Paul Craig Roberts

Posted on 02/03/2017 9:50:59 AM PST by Trump_vs_Evil_Witch

President Trump says he wants the US to have better relations with Russia and to halt military operations against Muslim countries. But he is being undermined by the Pentagon.

The commander of US forces in Europe, General Ben Hodges, has lined up tanks on Poland’s border with Russia and fired salvos that the general says are a message to Russia, not a training exercise.

How is Trump going to normalize relations with Russia when the commander of US forces in Europe is threatening Russia with words and deeds?

The Pentagon has also sent armored vehicles to “moderate rebels” in Syria, according to Penagon spokesman Col. John Dorrian. Unable to prevent Russia and Syria from winning the war against ISIS, the Pentagon is busy at work derailing the peace negotiations.

The military/security complex is using its puppets-on-a-string in the House and Senate to generate renewed conflict with Iran and to continue threats against China. Clearly, Trump is not in control of the most important part of his agenda—peace with the thermo-nuclear powers and cessation of interference in the affairs of other countries.

See my previous, since we quoted the same line.

There are also a lot of just plain stupid generals! And then there are soldiers like during the Civil War who chose the opposing side.

They are corrupt if they are political while serving in the military. Those should be rooted out.

Trump needs to flush out all the top brass Obama put in place when he engineered his purge of America loving military men. And he needs to do it soon.

I looked Hodges up on wiki and the only inkling of politics I coud find was that he believed that Brexit would threaten NATO. He was appointed in 2014, so an Obama appointee. I sure hope Trump can quickly get all areas of his Military on board or the Obamaites will surely destroy us.

Poland does not share a border with Russia.

Let's parse that line...lol. Poland technically shares a border of Belarus with Russia. It's just that Poland is on Belarus' western border, and Russia is on Belarus' eastern border. These borders are about 400 miles apart, or the distance from San Francisco to LA.

Obviously, that's a gargantuan stretch. Thanks for pointing out the author's error.

That's the reason Rand called libertarians "right wing hippies."

Regarding foreign policy, they and the hard left are united in their hatred of the United States.

Well, it does with the Kaliningrad Oblast, a troublesome outpost of Mordor on the Moskva.

Freudian slip on the part of the author. He probably considers the Baltics part of Russia already.

These were likely standing orders from Obama. Trump does need to set new policy.<<<<<<<

They ARE standing orders from Obama. This exercise was planned a long time ago. I hope Trump gets a grip on it, very soon.

The sad thing is that those who are there...ie the soldiers...don’t even know why they are there, nor are they being paid for overseas or hazardous duty.

Yes, they were deployed based on the #fakenews that Russia "hacked" the election. Obama trying to put Trump in a box.

Some irony that your comment itself, is Fake News.

If WWIII with Russia is to be avoided, it COULDN’T HAPPEN FAST ENOUGH...

All anyone has to do on this forum is claim some group or other is anti-Trump and all of a sudden we have a two minute hate.

The Army is in Poland to support one of our strongest allies in Europe. Poland does not share a border with Russia proper, although the tiny Kaliningrad enclave adjoins it. I support the Army and the troops on their mission.

That’s an absurd statement. Poland became a member nation of NATO in 1999 (Clinton). The Baltic states, 2004 (Bush). If the word of the USA means anything, we must have military exercises and deployments that show our commitment to mutual defense. Putin has certainly done some saber-rattling concerning the Balts.

I am quite sure those there know why they are there. And while such a deployment doesn’t trigger combat pay (and I hope it doesn’t, ever), it is likely there are some TDY allowances involved. Perhaps someone more knowledgeable will come by and comment.

I think of it the other way. Not leaks, misinformation.

If Trump’s employees in the private sector kept their mouths shut throughout this entire campaign, I have to think (just a little bit) that he is playing the media.

All war is based on deception.

It is also worth noting that Poland is one of the few NATO countries that devotes at least 2% of GNP to defense, as required by NATO agreements, along with a couple of the Balts. Another sign of their strong ally in NATO status.

Legitimate training exercises do not involve activities that can easily be described as military prepositioning for aggression.....

... The globalist EU/NATO/UK/Bilderberg/NWO conspiarators have been pushing for war with Russia for at least three years...Why should Putin or Trump believe this is not the Pentagon continuing its’ previous policies?

You can’t turn around a Brigade and send them home within 2 weeks.

You are the only one who specified "within 2 weeks". The redeployment preparations can begin today or, perhaps, did yesterday.
