President Trump's Supreme Court nominee set up a student newspaper to attack political correctness on campus. Neil Gorsuch, hailed as the heir to conservative jurist Antonin Scalia, was one of three Columbia students who started The Federalist, an 'alternative' paper which took aim at the New York university's 'liberal' campus life. It took aim at liberals, the left, and the university authorities. And it mocked Joe Biden for coming 75th our of 86 students at law school.

What do you can the guy who finished last in his law school class?
“Your Honor” [rimshot]
Yeah. So what?

From the video description:
Biden can be seen sparring with a voter who questioned his academic credentials. Biden responded, "I think I have a much higher I.Q. than you do I suspect. I went to law school on a full academic scholarship -- the only one in my class to have a full academic scholarship." Biden went on to claim that he graduated in the top half of his law school. Problem is, none of that is true.

Washington National Cathedral was established well over a century ago when Anglicanism was the major Christian denomination of a lot of prominent political leaders in the United States. Today its one of the fastest declining Christian denominations and a shell of what it used to be the United States. There are a handful of pro-life conservatives still in the Episcopalian Church USA, but theyre very rare. Most of their conservative members have left as the church became increasingly liberal over the years.
Its true that most American Presidents have attended services at Washington National Cathedral, its also true that theres a sculpture of Muhammad on the Supreme Court building in Washington D.C. Those facts would not justify a Supreme Court nominee being a member of a radical mosque in Dearborn, MI that preaches Sharia law, and it does not justify a conservative Supreme Court nominee being a member of a leftist church in Boulder, CO with a female priest that marches with women dressed as vaginas and has a partnership at the church to promote LGBTQ rights.
Is it possible that Judge Gorsuch is really a Scalia-type conservative and does not share the views of the liberal church hes worshipped at for years? Yes, its possible. Its also possible Barack Obama is actually proud of this country does not share the God Damn America views of Rev. Wright despite attending that church for years. But if I was a betting man I wouldnt put my money on either possibility.
Simply put: Episcopalians today tend to be very liberal. Being an Episcopalian by itself is not necessarily a sign that someone holds left-wing views. But attending a liberal church for years is definitely a bad sign and makes it unlikely that Gorsuch will be the second coming of Scalia.
Im not even claiming this guy is a stealth liberal, simply that his views appear to be far closer to Sandra Day OConnor than Clarence Thomas.
If FReepers want to take the risk of giving this guy a lifetime job appointment to Scalias seat because theres a slim possibility he MIGHT secretly share Scalias beliefs, thats your business.
I will be urging the Senate to oppose this nominee.”
I'll wait to see what happens.
On the surface it seems like a lot of conjecture and the report is filtered through your state site rather than the big board because it would have been pounced upon immediately as fake news ....
And the one thing fake news can't afford is to be exposed before it has a chance to at least utter a word.
Fake news is all about words that mislead and confuse.
“Fake news is all about words that mislead and confuse.”
It will be easy to find out if Gorsuch has been a member of Boulder’s very liberal Episcopalian Church with a female priest for the past 18 years or not. And if he is listed as an usher there. You can’t fake that. If you don’t want to believe it, do the research to find out otherwise before saying that this info is fake. I want to know the truth or not of this pronto.
A fourth-generation Coloradan,[12] he was born in Denver, Colorado, but moved to Washington, D.C., as a teenager, after his mother was appointed to the EPA.[13] Gorsuch is an Episcopalian
Consider . . . a progressive can not nor will not give a definitive answer when life begins in the womb. Am thinking, anyone with a soul could answer that.
Consider . . . a progressive claims to promote social justice, yet does not accept that individuals should be held accountable nor responsible for choices they make. Anyone with a soul recognizes there are consequences for choices one makes.
On and on . . .
as to the Bhuddhist view of the reborn of a snowflake? Funny thing is . . . my wife is a Bhuddist. Best I can answer that . . . depends. Depends upon the day of the week and if I have done anything to upset her. LOL.
I think you are on to something here. Plato suggests that the soul is the seat of reason and passion, the thing that drives behavior and differentiates one person's character from another person's character. As snowflakes are merely some variant of Orcism, engaging in consistently similar mindlessly savage and brutal acts [the Berkeley riots] in conformance with the decrees of a manevolent master [Soros, Podesta] or mistress[I'm with her], they are not merely fallen souls. What is clear is that progressives believe, as you say, not that there are consequences of the choices one makes, but rather there are consequences for making a choice. Progressivism recruits among those who recognized that. Lacking the power of individual action, choice or motivation, they clearly lack a soul.
A further moral problem then suggests itself. Are dead souls distinguishable from wholly absent souls?
