Actress Sarah Silverman called for a military coup against President Trump on Wednesday night in the midst of violent riots in Berkeley, California.
In a screaming all-capital-letters tweet exhorted her almost 10 million followers to “wake up & join the resistance,” a term from World War II that anti-Trump rioters have used to define themselves.
She then outlined her preferred scenario for the violent overthrow of the legitimately elected government, still in all capital letters.
“Once the military is w us fascists get overthrown. Mad king & his handlers go bye bye,” Ms. Silverman posted.

I think that is true, up to a point.
I have always said that CW II would require a split in the chain of command, because soldiers and marines, if the chain of command remained undivided, would obey orders and crush militias like bugs (and, yes, I have read "what good is a handgun against an army?").
The immediate danger we are in is that the upper echelons have been filled with Obama loyalists, and (much harder to discern) many majors and LTCs who gave even a whiff of Trumpism (I mean Trumpism pre-Trump) have been systematically weeded out.
So, if a POLITICAL leader or small group of them were to attempt a coup, it COULD generate blue-on-blue warfare, and we would really be in the shit (pardon my French).
