Former President Barack Obama’s elder daughter is selecting movie scripts for executives at a Hollywood production company, according to a new report.

Malia Obama, 18, began interning with the Weinstein Company this week, TMZ reported Wednesday, adding it confirmed her role in Weinstein’s development and production department with sources at the company.

Obama reads through possible film scripts and decides which ones move on to Weinstein brass, TMZ reported, noting that the firmer first daughter is a paid intern and the internship will last until spring.

Past hit films produced by Weinstein include “The King’s Speech,” “Silver Linings Playbook,” “Django Unchained” and “Good Will Hunting.”

Obama reportedly attended the 2017 Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, last week before starting her internship at the New York-based film company. . .

Everyone starts by reading scripts from the slush pile.

Since she’s Obama’s kid, they’ll have to throw her a bone and make one of her choices in order to stay in good graces. It will surely be terrible and an embarrassment to the studio but they really have no choice. The smart thing to do will be to get George Clooney to star in it so they can be sure nobody will ever see it.

She should see Travolta about funding it - my guess is he’s eager to see something displace “Battlefield Earth” in the “Rotten Tomatoes” rating basement.

Malia grew up in an elitist family and went to an elitist private school and probably knows just about nothing there is to know about common everyday things happening in the streets of America... I don’t think it’s going to work.

But gratefully I acknowledge that at least she’s not providing her personal interpretation of the Constitution to anyone of import....

Rat kids do seem to stumble on high-paying, low effort jobs fairly regularly, don’t they?
