The United Arab Emirates top diplomat on Wednesday came out in defense of President Donald Trumps order temporarily barring citizens from seven Muslim-majority countries from entering the United States.
The comments by Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Gulf federations foreign minister, could help bolster the administrations assertion that the directive was not intended as a ban against Muslims.
The UAE minister said the U.S. was within its rights to take what he said was a sovereign decision concerning immigration the first such remarks in support of Trumps move from the Gulf Arab region and he voiced faith in the American administrations assurances that the move was not based on religion.
Sheikh Abdullah also noted that most of the worlds Muslim-majority countries were not covered by the order, which halts entry for 90 days to citizens of Iraq, Syria, Iran, Sudan, Libya, Somalia and Yemen.

We should ban leftists.
Given what they believe and how much they hate our Constitution, we’re about a century late in that respect.
The notion of a “living constitution” goes back to Woodrow Wilson too.
Wait till the ban is extended to the UAE. Then we’ll see what he says.
On what basis would the ban be extended there?
The UAE is one of the few places that calls CAIR and MAS terrorist organizations.
Part of controlling Muslim entry into the U.S. Two of the 9/11 hijackers were from the UAE. If Trump is serious about stopping terrorists then he's going to have to expand the ban to the countries that terrorists have come from - Saudi Arabia, Egypt, UAE, Lebanon, Nigeria. I'd include the UK as well but we don't require visas from them.
I noticed that many left-wing outlets have pointed that out today too, with special emphasis on the KSA.
I wouldn't know that. But even if they are, and leaving aside that their motivation is not to stop terrorists, where are they wrong?
There are Muslims who understand the issue.
