Let’s agree that President Trump’s travel ban on visitors from seven nations was a sensible idea hobbled by flaws, especially regarding green-card holders and dual citizens. Let’s also agree we haven’t seen a rollout this clumsy since the debut of ObamaCare, which was far more serious because it penalized millions of Americans while Trump’s order inconvenienced hundreds of foreign nationals.
Still, we can assume, based on past performance, that Trump will learn from the mistakes. His fierce determination to be a successful president cannot coexist with rookie blunders.
But what about the other players in the drama? Can we say the media will now correct its excess of bile and cover Trump as a legitimate president and not as an invasive species?
No, no, no. On the contrary, we must say that Trump aide Steve Bannon was on target when he called the Washington media “the opposition party.”
Don’t take his word for it. Stick a toe into the toxic sludge that passes for straight-news coverage in The Washington Post, The New York Times and others.
Look for the use of tell words like “Muslim ban” to describe an executive order that is no such thing. Look for hero worship of protesters, immigrants, refugees, lawyers rushing to the barricades and congressional critics.
Look, too, at the Twitter feeds of editors and reporters from those papers and the major networks. You’ll see their embrace of everything anti-Trump, further evidence they are part of a movement to obstruct the president, not cover him.

I don’t agree - nothing clumsy about it...certainly not on the level of Obamacare...where the website didn’t even work. Trump is doing everything he promised to his voters...the clumsy part continues for the libs and their faux outrage.
The MSM vastly contributed to the election win of the President.
The amazing thing to me is not that Trump fumbled the ball on all the specific situations.....it is a false narrative that even conservatives are falling for. The real issue is folks come and go and nobody has any idea who they are and why they are coming and going. An Iraqi interpreter who stood with our troops.....should be given a hero’s welcome. We don’t even know he is coming. A guy goes to get his sick mother....the government has no clue.
Obama....and any other open borders loon from either party.....it is their collective fault this is screwed up. Not Trump. This is all part of draining the swamp. Showing middle America just how F’d up their government really is.
There were clumsy parts. It needed to be clearer on green card holders and people with existing visas.
He should have consulted with the Secretary of Defense before initiating it.
That said, Trump is a fast learner. This is very early in his presidency and will soon be forgotten. It was keeping a promise, and had only minor glitches, that were quickly fixed.

“Clumsy” is the latest RINO/nevertrump catch phrase. The fact is, a great plan today is better than a perfect plan tomorrow. Audacity and aggressiveness are the key.

Unfortunately, in addition to the usual suspects in the DBM, there are anti-Trump factions in the GOP (Jonah Goldberg, Bill Kristol, e.g.) who would love more than anything to gloat and say “we told you so”.
Trump is going to be derided and second guessed no matter what he does. There are many, many people who want him to fail and seek to drive a wedge between him and his supporters.

Trump really should have waited a couple of weeks, got Tillerson in office, fired those 900 people and then used that as a way to implement the travel EO.

Two points worth emphasizing — Trump needs to continue to get out of DC and out into the heartland. Too bad the Milwaukee Harley Davidson trip did not materialize. and continue to pick off Democrat constituencies, by meeting with labor and minorities frequently.

But this morning I realized that the left is committing political suicide. Their over the top obstructionism is discomfiting people trying to get to work, trying to come home from work and people just trying to work.
And over what? Trump is just doing what he said he was going to do. He's going about it in a methodical nature even as he continues to discredit the msm.
When things have leveled out and Soros decides that throwing money down the rathole isn't going to work, the dhimmis are going to look like road kill.
