They want Trump gone. Two dozen protesters are hoping Marco Rubio will lead the way

With posters that read “Remove the POTUS,” about two dozen protesters gathered outside U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio’s office in Doral Tuesday and chanted “Stop Trump’s Swamp’s Cabinet,” as cars honked along Northwest 36th Street.

“To see a person of such little intellect in a leadership role and failing badly makes me sick; it makes us all fail,” said Palmetto Bay’s John Taylor, 73. “I am asking that Rubio make moves to remove [Trump]. Somebody has to step up and save this nation, save this democracy.”

Some posters read “How about appointees that actually qualified?” while others sported signs with the names “Rick Perry, Steve Mnuchin, Jeff Sessions, Scott Pruitt and Betsy DeVos” with a giant “X” crossed through them. All were nominated for cabinet positions by Trump.

Other signs said #NoWall #NoBan.

“We are here to hold our senator accountable, and to call him out to vote for his conscience before party and his personal interests,” said organizer Roberta Alba, who works with the local community organization Move Forward South Florida.

Rubio did not return phone calls from the Miami Herald on Tuesday. A Rubio spokesman emailed a statement to a Herald reporter later in the day: “The leftwing [sic] extremists at Move.On org and their paid protestors are entitled to express their opinions, and like all presidents, Trump is entitled to nominate his cabinet.’’

Also at the protest were about five Trump supporters.

“I am hoping to remind our senator to support our president and whatever endeavors he may have, to not become an obstructionist like the rest, for him to put our priorities in line,” said Alida Rivero of Miami. “Let’s get on with things.”

That settles it - Rubio’s gonna have to switch Party affiliation if he wants a career....

When the civil war comes, it won’t be “mini”.

I have to disagree. This time both sides won’t be armed and it won’t be north vs. south, where the south has the better fighters and the north churns out more hardware.

It will be men with guns who know how to use them vs. freaks, fairies, hipsters and black panthers.

Won’t be a long fight.
