Suicide is a mortal sin under the condition that the person knows that the act is a sin and, in his right mind and in control of his faculties, deliberately chooses it anyway,

Got any documentation to back up this assertion?

Hi. Elsie. First of all, suicide is murder, and that means it's against the Lord's Command. It's one of those "Thou shalt nots" which is an exceptionless norm. It is written in Revelation 22:15 "For outside are dogs, and sorcerers, and fornicators, and murderers..."In context "outside" means those who do not enter the gates of Life.

Therefore they are suffering the consequences of unrepented Mortal sin.

If they did not now what they were doing, the Lords pleads their forgiveness: "Jesus said, 'Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing...'" (Luke 23:34)

So if you did not know,or were not in control of yourself, the personal guilt of sin is mitigated.

Questions?
