WASHINGTON Acting Attorney General Sally Q. Yates, a holdover from the Obama administration, ordered the Justice Department on Monday not to defend President Trumps executive order on immigration in court.
I am responsible for ensuring that the positions we take in court remain consistent with this institutions solemn obligation to always seek justice and stand for what is right, Ms. Yates wrote in a letter to Justice Department lawyers. At present, I am not convinced that the defense of the executive order is consistent with these responsibilities nor am I convinced that the executive order is lawful.

Wasn’t Sally Yates part of the group within the Justice Department that protected Hillary by denying the FBI use of a grand jury and search warrants, and also tried to squash FBI investigations of the Clinton Foundation?
So why isn’t Sally Yates being tried for Obstruction of Justice?
Wow, nothing like going out with a bang. Bye Sally!
This is the result of Obama turning the Department of Justice into the Department of Social Justice.
Who did she check with Obama or Trump ?
Absolutely.
And McConnell needs to bring Sessions up for a vote in the AM.
Which reminds me, anyone know off hand when his confirmation vote is scheduled?
Isn’t she supposed to act according to the wishes of the President?
like the protestor at a Trump rally, “Get her out......”
Soon the defender of illegal aliens will be on local TV advertising her services defending accident victims.
Have you been traumatized by an employer who refuses to build a transgendered bathroom in your office? Call me at 800-I'M DEEPLY HURT and I can get you cash....
Some of the US Attornies are doing heroic jobs. In fact, one US Atty for the Southern District of NY is the one that refused to backdown over the Clinton emails found on the Weiner laptop, a case and investigation which is still ongoing.
But agree that a lot of cleanout is needed, just not a complete overreach.
Mustang Sally, think you better slow your Mustang down.
The disrespect President Trump is enduring is so hard for me to take. I know we’re winning, I guess, but is it going to be like this every day for 4-8 years? So disheartening.
The pundits always say he has thin skin because reacts. I think it’s the opposite. No one, in my opinion has taken the abuse he has.
What court? What ever happened to all the rulings made last night by the hack political judges halting the EO?
Insubordination. Grounds for immediate dismissal. But if they fire her before Sessions is confirmed, do they have an alternative available that will subordinate?
Why the hell is McConnell letting these confirmations drag on? And why did the Republicans take a 2 day retreat in Philly last week when there are more urgent matters that require them to be in session?
I couldn’t help but notice after Trump spoke to retreaters last week how shaken McConnell and Cornyn looked as Trump shook their hands after he talked.
At some point, Trump will need to turn the screws on the republicans in congress. It will be interesting to see how he does it, or even if he can do it. I’m thinking he’s surrounded by political assassins.
I know the strategy of the left.
They are goingto sue against everything Trump does whether they actually beilee its legal or not.
They will frame everything, and the uniparty media will, as illegal.
They are building up a phony dossier of things that they will try to make into case for impeachment.
Yesterday.
Fixed.
The Demoncrats will filabuster...obstruct!
Get your resume in order.
She works at the pleasure of the President. Fire her.
