On a separate note, can someone please explain to me why the majority of news sites have a ton of those phony click-bait ads below the article? I scroll down to see if comments are enabled and see a bunch of garbage from Taboola and other “sponsored links”. If that’s the future of the online advertising business, I’ll go back to only reading the posted excerpt and commenting without reading the article.

Because if you accidentally click on one of those ads — or the fake arrows that look like they will take you to the next part of an article but take you to an ad site — they get paid.
