Howard Schultz is putting your coffee money where his mouth is. Or, "would you like me to pee in your coffee, infidel?"

This 10,000 hires is supposedly to be spread over the 75 countries SB operates in. But, I wonder what percentage of liberal arts American Baristas will be replaced with this preferential diversity hiring?

5 bucks for a lousy cup of coffee and to support 10K refugees is enough to stay away.

Howard better hire a few more lawyers to handle the increased lawsuits from “new” employees who sue them for not letting them practice their religion five times a day...

So much for Starbucks. Once you look around you find far better coffee just about everywhere.

I don’t want a Muslim handling my food anywhere and have moved buying locations before now.

I WAS an occasional Starbucks customer. Now I will never darken their door again.

Take note millennials with $200k of college debt and questionable majors - your last remaining career path has just been shut down.

I hate that companies and corporations are taking political sides, on either side. These mostly tax-exempt corporations/PACs should HAVE to be neutral on political matters. Having said that, I won’t be picking up a bag of starbucks. I don’t ever visit a Starbucks location, but on occasion I would pick up a bag of their brew in the grocery store (Dunkin Dark is the best, even though I mostly can’t find it and limit myself to what is on sale). I’m seriously finding my purchasing options limited these days, as more and more of these idiots pander to the crowds.

If they can verify that the refugees did aid the US, that’s great. The private sector should its part for those who endangered their lives and their loved ones to help us. I doubt there were quite as many as he intends to hire though.

95 Million Americans out of the workforce and Starbucks is going to give positive bias to non-Americans.

Nice to blatantly tell America where your loyalties lie

HAHA! Oh, this is special! Starbucks just replaced 10,000 new American jobs with immigrants. Now how anti-American is that!! Gotta love these idiotic libtards for shooting themselves in the foot.

In 9other words, your local neighborhood Starbucks is going to look like the average 7/11 or Circle K - with service to match.

If Starbucks hires them in stores outside this country, who cares?

If they hire refugees that are legally in this country, nuttin wrong with that but Starbucks is displaying a bad attitude.

I used to sometimes give Starbucks gift cards as gifts, but no more. I will use up my last gift card and then patronize other places like Peet’s and Coffee Bean. I won’t participate in funding someone who goes out of his way to discriminate against Americans.

Re: the hiring would apply to stores worldwide and the effort would start in the United States where where the focus would be on hiring immigrants “who have served with U.S. troops as interpreters and support personnel.”

I think Shultz starts off with a disingenuous statement meant to sidetrack opposition by saying the first people hired will be those who served with US troops. What percentage of the refugees actually fit those qualifications? I don't imagine that even 1% of the refugees actually helped serve as interpreters and support personnel. (And if they did help our military they deserve better than a job at Starbucks.) Since the pickings will be slim Starbucks can then move on to giving all Muslim immigrants preferential hiring status. Move over Black, White, Hispanic Americans. Go to the back of the hiring line.
