New York City Mayor Bill DeBlasio told CNN's Jake Tapper that it is OK to shield undocumented immigrants who drive drunk from federal authorities if it does not "lead to any other negative outcome."
Tapper asked the Democratic mayor on Sunday's "State of the Union" if he would comply with federal authorities following President Trump's executive order to halt funding to cities that do not cooperate with immigration officials by presenting a specific scenario. "Jake, there are 170 offenses in that law that are listed as serious and violent crimes that lead to automatic cooperation between the city of New York and our federal partners, DeBlasio replied. So any serious and violent crime, were going to work with them.

I love it when Liberals double-down on losing strategies....The American people have NO PROBLEM with pausing or STOPPING immigration be it legal or illegal....We have ENOUGH problems , we have ENOUGH people and a finite amount of resources to try and fix the problem.
So is MADD still around or were they highjacked by planned parenthood?
there are 170 offenses in that law that are listed as serious and violent crimes that lead to automatic cooperation between the city of New York and our federal partners
Why is there a list?? How about ANY crime lead to automatic cooperation?
Who makes the list???
My guess would be the 17 agencies Hillary was talking about.
In Michigan if you are drunk and cause an accident you get prison time (felony) if the peron is killed.
Just Hurt them, misdomeanor I think, mandatory 6 month jail time.
New organization needed: Mothers Against Drunk Driving Illegal Aliens. MADIA for short!
MADDIA....oops!!!
What’s all this stupidity about drunk driving? The Feds can arrest DiBlasio for aiding and abetting an illegal alien according to U.S. Code. As senior member of city executive branch, he is the ‘top cop’ and is responsible for enforcing all laws. Any assistance to an illegal alien is subject to the law; transportation, food, or lodging, for example.
Nahhhh.....Kasick is in the running.
“Sick of this breaking families apart rubbish. If the bread winner gets deported he is free to take the entire family back to the old country with him. If he chooses to leave them behind then so be it. Just dont put me on a guilt trip mayor.”
Families should stay together. Ergo, the entire family should be deported so the family is intact. It’s “for the children.”
Every citizen in NYC can now claim an equal protection violation.
yeap... and next it will be the US criminal, we can’t send people to jail, we are “breaking families apart.”
Take my word for it, Kasich is the president of Mensa compared to DeBlasio.
Hypothetical: If the DNC convention for the presidential nominee were held in NYC, would De Blasio attend? I rest my case. <^..^>
He in NE Mississippi a drunk illegal immigrant was involved in a car accident that resulted in injuries and property damage was just let go because the PD didn’t want to arrest him and watch him get released and figured why even bother.
Every citizen has to demand this equal treatment.
Good God he should be impewahed and removed for saying this.
That’s just not true; look up NJ’s DUI laws. It isn’t even a misdemeanor; it is a traffic violation. Perps are not entitled to pre-trial intervention or a trial by jury (because it isn’t a crime) and it can’t be expunged for the same reason.
You’re right about NJ, I thought all States had changed their laws. However in NY (where Deblasio is talking about) it is a misdemeanor.
Oddly enough, there is even discussion in NJ about changing the license suspensions so perps could drive to and from work during the suspension. I don’t know why NJ has it set up this way, but I know most other states are more strict; as you mention, some are worse than misdemeanors.
As my children reach driving age I see one policy here that I don’t recall when I was younger: Underage drinkers, regardless of whether or not a vehicle is involved, can have their license suspended or delayed.
Bill DeBlasio (his current name) has cost the taxpayers so far more then $11 million in legal bills for his corruption.
