Near the end of his over hour-long speech, Adler went off script for a moment to remind those in the city his stance on immigrants coming to Austin.
“In this community, they should feel welcome and safe,” said Adler.
Prior to that, he said last year Austin accepted 600 refugees from Iran, Syria and Afghanistan; most of them women and children. He anticipated another over 600 refugees in the city this year, and said almost one in four Austinites weren’t born in the U.S.

American citizens should feel safe walking their own streets. American taxpayers shouldn’t be paying for wholesale illegal alien criminal activity and fraud being enabled by self appointed sanctuary cities. These mayors need to be tarred and feathered.
Pandering to illegal immigrants to keep the Democratic Party alive. Behind the scenes the party is be spoiled and falling apart because of wrong decisions, over and over and over again.
Obama sent “refugees” to red states. Now Trump can return the favor and send them to blue areas.
If legal, if not go back where you came from.

Even better would be to resettle those refugees in blue states. I want a lot of them in Hawaii to greet Obama.

Zuckerberg needs to see some refugees too. Preferably in his palace/compound/small town behind walls he’s built there in Hawaii.
Gov. Abbott has given the Travis County (Austin) sheriff until Wednesday to rethink her stand on illegals or he’ll yank state funds. Abbott needs to have the same talk with Austin’s mayor. Heck, just relocate Austin to CA.
