Maybe. It will certainly help. I sure hope that the Trump admin deports the illegals so that we can find out.

We already possess the world’s foremost seaports and far and away our most important ones at New Orleans and New York.

I wonder about that Vike,

If Kali secedes, then the US HR would just have 55 less seats, Senate, two less seats because the House is apportioned by population as determined by the official 10 year censusesesss.

So, until the good people emigrate from Kali and obtain permanent residency and then citizenship again...the population of the USA would hold the same for the House reps 435-55=380.

My thoughts!

I suspect China and Mexico would lay territorial claims to the state and invade the very next day.

It would be terrible were that to happen- a terrible thought that the USA would have to defend California to keep the Chinese off our border and to keep from extending the Mexican border to indefensibility.

Wait, everybody. They can’t leave - Mark Levin will call them “Neo-Confederates”!

I agree that California should not secede to become a liberal country. That would mean Mexico has conquered that state. Thank you Democrats and RINOs.

I know there are a lot of conservative patriots that live there. Let's see what happens as Trump tightens the screws with sanctuary cites to remove the vermin before anything else happens.

"fine, we keep the military bases and they can have what's left."

Hmmmm.... I think that's pretty much how it ended up in Traves McGee's book, DOMESTIC ENEMIES....

Just saying.........

At the emotional level, I say begone and good riddance.

However, if California wants to leave and is allowed to do so it would mean any state can and will leave whenever they wish to do so.

That would mean the country would eventually dissolve.

I do not want to see the nation dissolve. Neither did Abraham Lincoln.

But what if California really wants to leave and is NOT allowed to do so? If they push hard enough and we don’t let them go, it would mean another Civil War.

No sane person wants a Civil War. Neither did Lincoln.

One thing though: how do they handle the conservative parts of California? Yes, they do exist. The interior and the rural north largely went for Trump. They just get outnumbered badly by Los Angeles and the San Francisco Bay Area.

"If it were to happen, I suspect China and Mexico would lay territorial claims to the state I keep hearing people talking about this Sino-Mex alliance."

I can believe that..... I don't think we could fine a time in history when Mexico was an ally of the U.S.

The question of seceding from the United States was settled when Gen. Robert E lee surrendered to Gen. Ulysses S Grant at Appomattox Courthouse in 1865. What those California govt. types are doing is sedition & treason & they KNOW BETTER.

When the California govt. idiots vote to secede have the Feds roll in & arrest them for sedition & treason followed by trials for the same . When found guilty make the hangings pay-per-view.

Eastern WA and eastern OR should combine to form a new state, with Kennewick as a capital (near the border of the existing states with good transportation connections). It would be an agricultural and resource hotbed without the taxes and regulations that the big city liberals want.

Re-read that recently. There is a part where Calif prevents anyone from the rest of the country entering. Nothing about keeping Californians in, though.

Hopefully a mini civil war would break out within the new country of California, wherein conservative Californians would slaughter all of the leftist vermin and rejoin the union. I can’t really think of a better outcome other than a spontaneous mass suicide of California leftists.

Agreed. INTERNAL secession is a part of reality (and would actually be worthwhile - “red” California would be internationally renowned for its primary industries while “blue” California would go bankrupt in a hurry), but leaving the Union will never suffice.

My friend and many others are well aware of the like
minded friends in Eastern and Southern Oregon. He
has told me that unfortunately there doesn’t seem
to be a constitutional provision for the combining
of parts of two states to make one as there is to
make two states out of one (exp: West VA from VA)

This is all fake news and “much ado about nothing”. CA is not going to leave the union. In fact, revival is going to break out in CA, and millions that lived in darkness will see the light.
