Democratic lawmakers in California are moving swiftly to pass a package of legislation that would restrict state and local law enforcement, including school police and security departments, from using their own resources to aid federal authorities in immigration enforcement.
The brewing legal battle between the state and Republican President Donald Trump, who Wednesday took sweeping actions designed to construct a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border and withhold federal funding to localities that refuse to cooperate with federal immigration authorities, could test the limits of California’s power amid questions over billions of dollars in funding.
The legislative package is moving four years after passage of the California “Trust Act,” which forbid state and local agencies from holding undocumented immigrants at the request of federal authorities. Immigration advocates say it would provide added cover to some local governments by standardizing often conflicting municipal policies and transforming California into a de facto “sanctuary state.”
“The state is saying, ‘I don’t want to be complicit with federal enforcement authority. We are doing our job. Let us do our job and look after state matters,’” said Grisel Ruiz, staff attorney at the Immigrant Legal Resource Center.

Start charging California officials with harboring illegal aliens, it is a federal felony.
After a few go to prison, the rest will get their minds right.
California has been a SANCTUARY state for years.

Fine, extend the wall north up to Oregon.

12-20 twenty year sentences in a federal penitentiary will bring them around.
And it should not be limited to politicians. It needs to reach down into the ranks of lowly DMV employees. Every government worker needs to know that Uncle Sam is watching and will imprison them.

No FEMA $$$ either. Maybe they can ask Mexico for help when their next disaster strikes.
The playbook since the 1930s has been:
If it is pro-communism, then Federal power trumps state power.
If it is pro-Constitution, then state power trumps Federal power.
So we just update the wall blueprints a bit.
No biggie.
Now I would like to hear from the inter part of the State that is Red...these are the people that supported Trump, I want to know how they feel about their State Government encouraging to break away from the Union...how are they going to get power, food, no bridges will be built to span the ocean from the California state...no government help, no fema when they have an earthquake, no help with fires, no help with drought, or flooding, no medical help...are they planning on connecting to Mexico for these functions...because if your not part of The United States of America, then your nothing...
