We will just use the money we save not funding terrorist like Obama did.
I sincerely hope that the list of priority infrastructure projects that the Trump Administration is developing will EXCLUDE any in California (or New York, for that matter).
Didn’t some dude say about 8 years ago that “elections have consequences?” Well, he was right about that.
Given the changes in the oil markets and Congress’ plan for a border adjustment tax, this could well be a pipeline to nowhere. Extracting oil from Alberta oil sands is much more costly than fracking in the Permian Basin. When you add in the 20% tax refiners would have to pay for Canadian oil, imports are likely a non-starter.
It all ROYAL BULLSHT, they will use the same judicial rulings and rights that were used to build the Interstate Highway System, which had much more objections since it had to run right through the middle of urban America.
“violation of international trade law”
Aww, is the Hague going to come after us with their nuclear weapons???
Now we have an arrogant MSM wetback pretending to be a heavy construction expert and an international law expert?
Hardly the intellectual heavyweight to create that analysis. It suggests a direct pipeline (pardon the pun) to the battery of Soros lawyers...
As soon as Soros in indicted for multiple and repeated felonies and he and his sons find themselves transported to Russia, we may be able to relax.
Where is Mitch Rapp when we need him?
International trade law?
If there is not an approved US Treaty stating these restrictions, I have 2 alphabets globalist need to learn, they are “F” and “U”.
Will be interesting to see how Libertarians like Rush and Levine handle this story. If they even touch it.....
Construction projects specify US steel products all the time. Particularly when the project involves federal money. Just another FAKE NEWS Story.
All Federal Contracts that I am aware of (Roads, Bridges, etc) already require American made steel. And a lot of other American made stuff. How is this any different.
Coming from the San Francisco Chronicle........enough said.
Oh my goodness, we can’t use U.S. Steel because the World Trade Organization says we have to allow other countries to bid on the work.
That’s it then, we are just going to have to scrap those illegal plans for U.S. steel on a pipeline built in the U.S.
sarcasm
“World Trade Organization.. Member-nations...supposed to allow companies to compete fairly on the price of goods...”
More leftist hypocrisy. If we were talking about “labor”, the left would be crying about how unions bids were being “unfairly” undercut by non-union, and/or non-minority-preferenced bidders.
A big factor in cost of domestic steel: Cost of energy.
Maybe Trump is going to do something about that :)
Another big factor: Environmental regulation.
Maybe Trump is going to do something about that :)
Much of steel production is automated. It can’t only be cheap chicom labor that gets their price down. There are self imposed external factors that can be undone.
Oh noes.....concern trolls are concerned
The Authoress probably has some of that cheap Chinese Laminate Flooring in her House that emits dangerous gasses.
It’s obviously affecting her writing.
Are there economists or oil industry experts at the San Francisco Chronicle? I couldn’t find any.

This ought to bring the routing dispute with the Indian group back into the picture.
Or I assume it will.
