In all the tumult over US President Donald Trump's signing of a memorandum in favor of the speedy resumption of building the Keystone XL pipeline, something important has been lost.
It's that he also signed a memorandum that would make the pipeline way more expensive and in violation of international trade law.

We post it because it is important to monitor what our enemies are doing....and to afford us opportunities to mock their stupidity.
Thanks artichokegrower!
SF Cron.......shut up, get out the way, and let him do his job.
Why post this drivel?
I worked in the oil industry and saw the effects of using Chinese made ball valves. Our finance department made a big pitch due to the cost. Instituted a positive material identification requirement and they found that the Chinese forged material did not meet industry requirements which was leading to extremely costly mishaps in the field. Finally got my way of no Chinese steel in any product.
International trade law?
If there is not an approved US Treaty stating these restrictions, I have 2 alphabets globalist need to learn, they are “F” and “U”.
Will be interesting to see how Libertarians like Rush and Levine handle this story. If they even touch it.....
I don’t question your right to post it or a need to see what the other side is saying, I only question the manner in which it is posted - we need to go back to posting warnings in the title lest it be perceived as an endorsement.
Tell me about it, been a heavy equipment abd auto mechanic for over 40 years! I’m 60. Day after day i have to battle getting good parts for my fleet of concrete mixers, especially airbrake parts.
Construction projects specify US steel products all the time. Particularly when the project involves federal money. Just another FAKE NEWS Story.
That's like saying why did BUCKHEAD post Dan Rather's TANG MEMO.
Thanks for your post #52.
Gotta know what the enema is up to!
All Federal Contracts that I am aware of (Roads, Bridges, etc) already require American made steel. And a lot of other American made stuff. How is this any different.
I wonder if that is what caused the DEEPWATER HORIZON incident ? We know the rig owners were going 'cheap' on the safety features.
“These dopes still dont get it. America first!”
It truly is mind boggling how the libtards have such a difficult time comprehending putting America first. From mandating that American made materials be used in tax payer funded projects, to stopping the flow of illegals so that US citizens don’t have to compete DOMESTICALLY for jobs the illegals frequently take at a fraction of the going pay rate.
Libtards have been the ones who have trumpeted the so call ‘cause’ of unions for decades, claiming better working conditions and excellent pay and benefits. Then the situation arises of union workers vs. non-union workers, both being American workers (presumably). One would think that it wouldn’t be too hard for libtards to be able to comprehend the concept of our nation supporting our citizens first, before seeking out foreign workers or foreign products.
Coming from the San Francisco Chronicle........enough said.
I might be wrong but you know there might be some truth in that, it was something about the BOP valve failing.
“way more expensive”
Check out the engineering screw-ups and quality control cover-ups under aegis of Caltrans.
The Bay Bridge may not make it through the next shaker.
Apparently in spite of constantly increasing toll prices on the Golden Gate bridge supposedly for maintenance.
The GG bridge may not have been painted properly for decades. The money for paint jobs probably got deposited in the directors offshore accts.
The bay area is loaded with scams like this.
