The feds have taken over many a police department. This was the case here in Detroit.
I know. Local situations can get out of control and need state or even fed help.
But I think keeping law enforcement/authority local is very important to hold back the wave of central (federal) control. The idea of a national police force is frightening for a number of reasons.
Same concepts apply with state's rights.
We need to keep a balance, or the next Obama will have jack-booted thugs in our towns telling us what we can and can't do. And they won't be our neighbors in uniform.
