Call on CNN first. Let them sink. Then call on alternative media the rest of the press conference.

I was the same way in my early days of public speaking. I had to really work hard at slowing it down. Part of it was nervousness but I’ve always had a phobia about wasting people’s time and I always wanted to deliver my material as quickly as I good and get off the stage.
