The suspect wanted in connection to the shooting of a 34 year old man turned himself in to police this morning and was promptly questioned by the University of Washington police.
The Seattle Times article reports that, one of the law-enforcement officials said the man who fired the gun claimed the man he shot was some type of white supremacist.

Is this a joke?
What are you seeing that looks like a joke?
Wonder if there is more to the story?
I’m surprised, after 8 yrs of Obama, every department of US are corrupted to dead, hope Trump can quickly clean them up.
If this is true, the Sessions Justice Dept should investigate.

The shooter claimed the guy he shot had assaulted him, and that the shootee was a racist. This claim was apparently sufficient for police to release him without charge.
Oh, well, then it's okay I guess. < sarc >
It was leftie on leftie violence so the police dropped it.
I shot a person for being what I thought was a white supremacist, when has that ever been a defense or anything like it.
No joke.
There is a photograph that must have been taken just an instant after the guy was shot. The guy is white wearing a black leather jacket. He is being held up standing by three other people, all dressed in black, one with a helmet and mask, another with just a mask. Typical garb for the Anarchists that show up in Seattle for these things. Not to say that the victim was an Anarchist, but from the photo it sure looks like he was standing right there with him. three of them are all focused on something just off the photograph - probably the shooter, a 50-something Asian guy.
The shooter turned himself an hour or two after the shooting. The shooting victim was in critical condition - still is I hear, but stable. As they carted him off his arm was exposed (on TV) and I saw a bunch of tattoos. One was of a swastika. Although his friends say that it is a swastika with a red circle and line through it - so it is an “anti-hate tattoo”. (I don’t doubt that, but the red line and circle did not stand out). His friends say he was a peaceful guy, and wanted Bernie Sanders for president.
Somebody on twitter said the guy was beating someone else up with brass knuckles, but I haven’t seen anymore about that - might have just been made up. Lots of witnesses, including the professional news photographer that must have been right there when it happened. 15 feet away in the photo people are still smiling, not reacting or knowing what had happened yet.
My son had tickets for the Milo event but they were not allowed in by the police - only the VIP’s that Milo’s group recognized were allowed in - probably so a violent protestor didn’t get in.
My son stayed for awhile and more protestors came, jars with paint and bricks were being thrown, some Trump supporters beat up. Firecrackers. He said he was there when the shooting happened but didn’t know about it - it was so crazy and loud.
The cops did tell them they were going to disperse those not legally supposed to be there.
“But we have tickets!”
“Except we’re not allowing you in - so you need to leave.”
“Okay, when do you want us to leave?”
“Now would be good.”
My son said that the cops pointed them around the side of the building and away from the main crowd of protestors. As they were leaving the cops moved in on the protestors with pepper spray. Even the newscaster was surprised.
“Okay, the police have just given the order to disperse, so we’ll see how this..... oh - they are already deploying pepper spray and pushing the protestors back! That was quick!”
I did not know the University of Washington had its own Police force. Sounds more like campus security jackwagons armed with harsh language and pointed sticks.
Let’s make it legal to shoot any “protester” in a Guy Fauwkes mask or a bandanna covering the face. We can issue hunting tags for them - no limit.
The guy they were looking for was a 50-year old Asian guy with a yellow jacket. Of course it might have been a yellow hat. And the bolo may have been completly wrong.
Would you be able to post a link to that video. Was it on youtube? In Seattle you can use deadly force to stop someone from attacking another person - it doesn’t just have to be for SELF defense. Although I do wonder if the shooter will face charges for having a firearm on the University. Although that comes under the heading of “I’d rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6”
At my son’s college there was a shooter several years ago. A student took him down after he had killed another student using pepper spray and then tackled him. The student was not supposed to have pepper spray on campus, but that was never brought up - and he was praised as a hero, which of course he was. Hopefully it will be the same here if the shooting was justified, which it sounds like it probably is.
Thanks for the info. IMHO, the linked article was written to leave a different impression of the situation to be inferred by the readers.
Here's your video of the guy in the yellow hat. I'm not sure that is the shooting or not. Seems odd that right after yellow hat moves in and there is that “pop”, that area is clear of anybody really quick, and the anarchists move through with that big sign.
I would think that somebody shot in the abdomen with critical wounds would still have been there. I might be wrong though.
But - it definitely wasn't a peaceful protest.
Clarification — the linked SEATTLE TIMES article.
“Police are searching for a roughly 50-year-old man who they believe was the gunman in Friday nights shooting.
According to a University of Washington alert, investigators are looking for an Asian who is 5-foot-7, 190 pounds, without facial hair. They say he was last seen wearing glasses, a yellow Champion baseball cap, a black leather jacket and possibly a maroon shirt.”
My apologies. If this is in fact the shooter, the video you mentioned is no doubt the incident. I imagine that the police have all the video they need and eyewitnesses to piece together the story.
However, if the shooting was justified, there will probably be no more detailed reporting on the incident. Although hopefully it will get a mention in the back of the NRA magazine in the “Armed Citizen” section.
This incident was discussed extensively on Breitbart last night. I presented my summary of what was said there, supplemented by my own viewing of the video. My take was just a reconstruction based on all of that, but I admit I’m still a bit confused.
