Not to be overly critical of President Trump but, His inaugural speech, to me, sounded a bit like his campaign speeches. He should check to see if Zell Miller is available to help him write speeches.

The best and I’m certain most correct description of the President’s inaugural speech was “a distillation of Trump campaign thoughts.”

That is , the speech was the essence, the boiled down message to 100 proof.

The thought was provided by Tucker Carlson.

The speech was de facto Presidential for the simple reason every word was delivered by the President

As a businessman, he couldn't very well stand up there and do as others have done -- tout his record in the Senate, House or Governor's mansion -- so he crystallized his message: that he has accurately diagnosed the nation's grave wounds and that he intends to bind them up with his particular skill set. As others have noted, he said "I" only three times, but "we" or "our" over 75 times. I found it inspiring as well as a welcome relief from the relentless empty narcissism of the past 8 years.
