Zuckerberg is a dick, but this is some sort of bizarre indigenous rights thing where Hawaiians own the land because their great great great grandparents owned it. Apparently this is standard operating procedure to resolve this redundant ownership.
And may I say once again, Zuckerberg is a dick.
