For fairly dry snow... 10” is average water content I think. Can be much lower for the wet snow that was the bulk of this storm... very heavy, dense snow. The worries are as much about avalanche danger as snow removal on many of these roads.

Very heavy wet snow can have a ratio of 3:1. That is a lot of water.
