President Obama has commuted the 35-year sentence of former Army intelligence analyst Chelsea Manning for leaking classified information in 2010 to WikiLeaks.

I have mixed feelings on these “whistleblowers” who leaked classified info. On the one hand I’m happy to have seen some of the info released, some of this stuff perhaps that the American people have a right to know about. On the other hand it may have put our military at risk. Maybe I just like knowing state secrets.
Obama has been hostile to whistleblowers, I doubt he would have commuted Bradley Manning’s sentence if Manning was not a tranny and thus a cause celebre.
I hope at least this means that taxpayers no longer have to pay for his hormone treatments.
It probably would have been best for all parties if Bradley had not been prevented from taking his own life in prison, as he attempted to do twice I believe.

Chelsea requested commutation rather than pardon, because s/he acknowledged having committed the crime. At least s/he did not run off to Russia with the secrets like Snowden.

The era of Obama has left me unable to tell when people are being sarcastic. Nowadays, too much nonsense passes as dearly held beliefs, about which they are quite serious.

If Manning had gone public with Obama’s real birth certificate and his college transcripts you’d think him a hero even though it would still be the same criminal offense.
All I see here is that he revealed criminal offenses that we’d never know of had they been kept secret via the abuse of the classification system.
