Sigh, again, national view of activists, doesn’t remotely define reality. Santorum burnt many bridges over the years with his actions in PA... being the good soldier for his general didn’t expose him as a fraud, other that perhaps to the far right wing radicals. Senate was in the balance, President asks you to support, you support.... he was being a good soldier... I and most folks don’t fault him anything for that... the overwhelming majority of folks who held that against him weren’t folks that did or ever would be able to vote for him.
Santorum was booted for many many reasons, he burned too many bridges over too many years, and it finally caught up with him.
