His claim to fame (or infamy to some) was his crusade against commies in government.
Id think that it’s not bad having a legacy of crusading against communists in government. Was it Hoover then for Hollywood? Want to get it straight and be informed!

McCarthy was unfairly maligned by the left, which focused on his style (he was something of a bully) and his personal shortcomings (he was an alcoholic), rather than the substance of his allegations, which were largely true. I think Ann Coulter has a book that devotes a chapter to setting the record straight about McCarthy.

Hoover’s FBI carried out most of the investigations into the activities and beliefs of the Hollywood Ten. The others involved are mostly lost in the fog of history, including congressmen like Hamilton Fish III and Martin Dies.
