You know with all the rising temperatures caused by Rep. John Lewis (D-GA) remarks about President-elect Donald Trump not being a legitimate president, we forgot about liberal economist and Nobel laureate Paul Krugman who first said that Trumps win was illegitimate. Now, Krugman says that calling Trump an illegitimate president is a form of patriotism (via NYT [emphasis mine]:
Now Mr. Lewis says that he wont attend the inauguration of Donald Trump, whom he regards as an illegitimate president.
As you might expect, this statement provoked a hysterical, slanderous reaction from the president-elect who, of course, got his start in national politics by repeatedly, falsely questioning President Obamas right to hold office. But Mr. Trump — who has never sacrificed anything or taken a risk to help others — seems to have a special animus toward genuine heroes. Maybe he prefers demonstrators who dont get beaten?
But lets not talk about Mr. Trumps ravings. Instead, lets ask whether Mr. Lewis was right to say what he said. Is it O.K., morally and politically, to declare the man about to move into the White House illegitimate?
Yes, it is. In fact, its an act of patriotism.
Now, lets not be snowflakes here; Krugman has every right to say these things. Its free speech—and were just going to have to deal with the endless stream of liberal angst and hysteria over the next four years (maybe eight). We can respond in kind by saying that a) you guys, whether it be Rubio, Perry, Fiorina, Cruz, or even Jim Gilmore, were going to call Obamas successor illegitimate if that person turned out to be a Republican; b) this would be considered treasonous back in 2009; and c) it does nothing but serve as yet another mechanism for liberals to use to avoid debating amongst themselves why Hillary Clinton lost. Yes, it may make you feel better, but after ten seconds of relief—youre still saddled with reality: Donald Trump is the 45th president of the United States.
Most of the illegitimacy discussion stems from the Russian interference, which wasnt a hack. Our intelligence agencies noted that the Kremlin flooded social media with propaganda and trolls. Thats not hacking. There never was an election hack. The Democratic National Committee and top Hillary Clinton adviser John Podestas emails were infiltrated. Thats not a hack. Even the Obama White House has put distance between themselves and Mr. Lewis, with White House Chief Of Staff Denis McDonough saying that outgoing President Obama feels that Trump was elected freely.
Krugman and Lewis need to get over it. Trump won, Clinton lost—and thank God for that.
Krugman...retard. In your case it’s an act of sedition and treason. Now GTFO my country.
These people are acting dangerously and recklessly in their childish antics. Trump won and, under our constitutional system, will become the 45th President of the United States.
Make no mistake, by attacking the legitimacy of Trump as president, Krugman and Lewis are attacking our Constitutional system. They are not arbiters of who is legitimate and who is not. Put simply, the constitution spells out who is President of the United States. Not Lewis. Not Krugman. Not any other nitwit from the left.
For this nation's enemies.
Anything Krugman says or does is total crap. Don’t foul youyr mind with his garbage.
Continuing the HRC mime. Copycat, copycat, pussy cat.
Just like criticizing B.O. was racism.
Then I guess calling Bammy a Kenyan ranks right up there with the Revolution!
Paul, an act of patriotism is to call you a full blown Commie SOB.
As one who swore to uphold thee Constitution, what Lewis did was an act of sedition.
More white liberal patronizing of black people on display by Krugman.
Krugman is an illegitimate human since he has no problem with genocide and baby killing.
He probably thinks that’s “patriotic” too.
Paul Krugman was a college employee; meaning, he is an idiot. He never contributed to or used his own ideas in commerce. He is a liberal idiot who thinks he knows economics but couldn’t run a hotdog stand.
Donald Trump must be illegitimate. How could anyone get elected if he was opposed by every elite in the nation? It is refreshing to see the party whose fringe enjoys burning or defecating on the flag, wrap itself in patriotism. The elite of our intel agencies has informed us that the Russians interfered in the election. They know this because they have some memos. The memos were a hoax. They were intentionally written in a way that the hoax would be exposed. This is our problem: we are ruled by an elite that does not know what it is doing. The intel elite was hacked by a 15 year old. The economics elite could not run a hotdog stand.
He was proven wrong in less than 24 hours.
Sorry to offend anyone here, BUT that photo of Krugman looks the guy ingested lots of semen.
Get the hell out my country you filth!
Certified looney unpatriotic SHJ . . .from The Slimes no less
“All the FakeNews that’s fit to print”
I knew Krugman decades ago when he was a young, obscure, arrogant traitor, and he hasn’t changed a bit.
Calling Krugman for advice on how to run the government is not going to happen for eight years
Has that low-T faux man been correct about anything in its sorry life?
No!
