That is the essential stroke of clarity, or genius, that distinguishes America from all other countries on earth.

The UK's contribution to the health of the world is the Common Law, one precept of which is that the Law is above even the King.

The EU have neither the American discovery of the true role of government, nor the tradition or instinct of the common law. This is why they generate despot after despot, and why they slide into Reich after Reich.

I had to learn about the UK's rich history in that respect after my public schooling. We got a few seconds on the Magna Carta and that was it. I never heard about men like Burke, Bagehot, and Adam Smith until after college.
