Obviously, the UN’s vote was a backdoor method of protecting butterfly habitat without going through the proper channels. It must have been an end run around the requirements to take a census of butterfly species and then require environmental impact studies as a condition of issuing building permits in potentially endangered butterfly habitats.

The fix is not to withhold U.S. dollars. As we see with Planned Parenthood, for example, there are plenty of celebrities and companies willing to write checks. They’d get money from the oil sheiks instead.
US out of UN, and UN out of US. Let them have their little votes and write their little resolutions. Then let them enforce them.
