It has been my (admittedly limited) experience that, once a police officer thinks that you are guilty of something, there is nothing you can say or do to change his or her mind. Even when a judge has vindicated you, you will still be guilty in the mind of the arresting officer.
I don’t disagree.
If you think about it, once we form opinions, most of us are pretty hard to flip.

You will have to realize also that officers many times are privy to a lot more information than is let into court. Many times they know without a shadow of a doubt the guy is guilty, and yet the jury never will.
In this instance, that doesn’t seem to be the case. They really do need to leave room for innocence.
