Senators Ted Cruz, R-Texas, and Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., are set to introduce legislation Thursday to cut off U.S. funding to the United Nations until the anti-American organization rescinds its recently passed, vehemently anti-Israel resolution.
U.S. contributions to the bodys regular and peacekeeping budgets stand at roughly $3 billion a year about a quarter of the respective budgets.
The senators Safeguard Israel Act of 2017 seeks to prohibit voluntary or assessed contributions to the United Nations until the President certifies to Congress that United Nations Security Resolution 2334 has been repealed, an advance copy of the draft bill obtained by Conservative Review states.

First worthwhile thing these two have done in a long, long time.
In Graham’s case, ever.
“U.S. contributions to the bodys regular and peacekeeping budgets stand at roughly $3 billion a year”
The numbers are wrong....the US contribution to the regular budget is $3 billion alone...add another $2.5 or more for peacekeeping.
More good legislation from Cruz!
Why mess around with that dipstick Graham?
Obama pulled stuff that was clearly unconstitutional and there are some conservative GOP members expect to undo but mods like Graham and others would just as soon leave as is.
Good to see him team up with Cruz, who does know how to go after all of the illegal deeds. High time to team up and undo at least 8 years of government overreach!
Saw Graham questioning someone today on an Israeli issue as if he were the pristine defender of Israel.
I guess advocacy of support for the Muslim Brotherhood, al Qaeda, and ISIS, is a great thing for Israel.

I wouldn’t team up with this guy unless it was support for him becoming a burger flipper at a fast food restaurant. And then I’d never eat there again.
Wish Graham got as riled up about defending the USA as he does about Israel. He gave Obama everything he wanted to defile our nation for 8 years. Grandstanding on Israel isn’t impressing me.
Another excellent Cruz bill!
I really like Ted Cruz...
True.
He’s occasionally useful.
More good legislation from Cruz!
Why mess around with that dipstick Graham?”
With lipstick Graham on it, it would be bi-partisan with Linda crossing over the aisle to the pubs.
I think I missed this comment.
I agree.
Yeah well, what is happening in DC is immaterial to what is happening in the Middle East. Israel just fired rockets into a Damascus Military airport. Send lawyers, guns and money baby. The crap has hit the fan.
Every 3 or 4 months, Israel strikes at Syria because Hezbollah militants are there or their weapons supplies. This has happened about 10 times. I don’t know why this time would be different.
“It is thought to have bombed weapons shipments intended for Lebanon’s Hezbollah movement several times since Syria’s civil war began in 2011.”

Agree, good to see Cruz becoming a team player.
Cruz has been comporting himself well of late - Graham has never done so.
This is just more misguided political theatre from two senatorial losers famed for misguided political theatre. If they had any brains or guts, they would sponsor legislation to get the US out of the UN and the UN out of US as a matter of principal and practical politics. Making their position on extricating the US from the UN contingent on what the UN does to another sovereign country is fundamentally stupid.
