Around end of 2012, I worked in a gov’t agency that had a guy in a ‘sister-organization’...who had gone and insulted some lady. I’d met the guy on two or three occasions, and he was the type that could very easily insult just about anyone. He was a GS-14.
The sister-organization went and did a review and concluded that he couldn’t stay. But they couldn’t fire the guy (more than enough rules were broken). So they worked up some deal where they gave him to our group with the intention of getting him to his retirement point (within two years).
I talked to others (government employees as myself) and they’d seen the same thing over the years. No one ever willing to just go the distance and fire people for incompetent behavior or unacceptable practices. It’s one of those dozen-odd things that bothered me about the whole Washington mentality. There needs to be some massive clearing of the whole million-odd employees in DC.
Exactly - I’ve seen exactly the same thing.
How does Trump fix things like that, which are CONTRACTUALLY obligated?
Only can be done if entire beuracracies are eliminated.
They can be brought back in a new form if needed.
