What a joke. The mayor says it’s up to the merchants whether they want to pass the charge on to their buyers. And since when is tax collection a choice??

They’re supposed to pay it and then sell the product at a loss (which also would defeat the purpose of curbing the consumption)...

The tax is more than the product costs... there is no way for the retailer to pay the tax himself...
