Oh, they want out when it’s warm and it’s still warm here. When it’s cold, I don’t mind them being in.

I don’t think I could make them stay in all night in pretty weather. They’d come in, try to sleep for a while, then wake me up from a sound sleep to go back out. So I leave them out. I don’t think they venture far from home. At least I hope not. There is a kitty carrier on the front porch if they want a soft place to sleep.

Ours would stay out at night, too, if we still allowed it. It’s hard to get them inside before dark. But we have to because of the coyotes, which have multiplied over the years.

Farmers had wiped them out several years ago because they were killing livestock but the wildlife people brought more in. Needless to say, farmers see one of those people in their uniforms, they see a target with a large bulls eye. I sure do.
