Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.) declared Tuesday during his Senate confirmation hearing that he would respect the Supreme Court's decisions about both Roe v. Wade and same-sex marriage if he is confirmed as attorney general. While Sessions admitted he believes the ruling on women's right to abortion "violated the Constitution," he acknowledged that it is now "the law of the land." "I would respect it and follow it," Sessions said, while admitting he still thinks the Roe v. Wade decision was "colossally erroneous."

Sessions also indicated he agreed with President-elect Donald Trump that the debate over same-sex marriage is already "settled." "I will follow that decision," Sessions said, citing the Supreme Court's 5-4 vote in favor of broadening the definition of marriage.

Sessions did an excellent job of doing what I hoped he would do. Simply repeat that he’ll enforce the laws. Congress needs to change the laws.

No doubt. This will be a tough issue for Trump to correct, I think. But hey, he simply may declare that fag marriages will no longer be legal. LOLOLOL.

Laws which can, and should, be overturned post haste.

That's been the mantra for the past 40 years under the most conservative Supreme Court since the mid 40's.

Abortion will never be overturned in my lifetime or yours.

I made the argument back in the early 90's that the conservative litmus test on abortion should not be a deciding factor on who we choose for our party's president since there is nothing he can do about R v. W.

22 years later my argument hasn't been disproven.......

Natural Law
vs
Human laws that abominate Natural Law

See Romans chapter 1 for the precedent on how that works out.

The pertinent response should have included, "just as Hobby Lobby, Heller, and Citizens United are settle law of the land."

Watch leftist heads explode.

He also said both issues are for the states to decide. When the Supreme Court gets two more conservatives on the court, a real possibility in Trumps first term, the court will hear both decisions again, and I predict both will be sent right back to the states where they belong. Then states can vote on sodomite “marriage”. The majority of Southern states and other republican voting states will vote for real marriage and democrat states will probably say it’s ok for sodomites to get “married.”
