A Missouri congressman is demanding criminal charges against Rep. Duncan Hunter who yanked a students controversial painting off the U.S. Capitol walls Friday, according to the Washington Post.
Rep. William Lacy Clay, D-Mo., said his staff met Monday with members of the Capitol Police to press theft charges against Hunter, R-Alpine, who removed the painting Friday and delivered it to Clays office as he left a Republican conference meeting where the artwork was discussed.
He had no right to take that picture down, Clay told the Post Monday just off the House floor. Its thievery.
The painting, by a recent high school graduate from Clays district, depicts a scene of civil unrest inspired by the 2014 events in Ferguson, Mo., and other recent protests against police led by African Americans. Several figures are depicted as animals, and some pro-police activists have said the rendering evokes derogatory images of police as pigs.

as long as we are stereotyping - add a portrait of the gentleman with his hog nose and thick lips in a trough of money
Clay’s focus isn’t on doing what’s best for the country, it’s on perpetuating racism. Next time he needs a cop he should call a pig. What a moron. He needs to resign.
This guy in the pink bow tie and white jacket with thin black pin stripes looks like the dandy version of a Nation of Islam cultist.
In fact... that is probably exactly what he is.
:: Any black parent would tell you that they have to have this conversation with their children about police and how to act around them ::
Lacy closes the barn door and asks, where are the horses?
What needs to be addressed is the WHY of this conversation.
Maybe a photoshopper could reproduce the painting using the head of Cong Lacy?
MIRTH AND GIRTH
The artist said that he had based the iconoclastic elements of his painting on a rumor that doctors at Northwestern Memorial Hospital had discovered Mayor Washington was wearing female underwear under his suit at the time of his unexpected death.
Keeping the “N” word relevant...
"That there is pretty funny. You obviously have no idea who Clay Lacy is, or where Missouri's First Congressional district is located. But you feel free to come on out and help campaign for a replacement - they'll love you in Black Jack or Jennings, or better still in the north St. Louis city neighborhoods. "
That's not exactly the kind of FR response that a fellow FReeper deserves!!
Ask for the office of Congressman William Lacy Clay:
(202) 225-2406
Courts have ruled that a single phone call expressing your opinion as a citizen is NOT harassment (multiples can be, though).
Feel free to call, ask for his office, and gently express that you’d like the Honorable Communist Congressman to put a sock in it.
The leftist have gone completely off the rails.
They are trying to NOT do their jobs!
Just a slight correction. Mayor Space to Destroy didn’t run again and is out. State’s Attorney is being sued (into oblivion I hope) by the cops she maligned and her idiot husband lost his bid for mayor. He’s still a councilman.
The new Mayor has her first scandal. One of her campaign aides who got appointed to the House of Delegates just got busted for breaking campaign finance laws.
This town knows how to pick ‘em
Color of their skin rather than content of their character.
It’s not theft if it’s moved and returned to the owner.
Of course the “protesters” are depicted as peaceful, well-groomed, aspiring rappers. What a fantasy, and really, the painting is trash. Poor technique, poor scaling, no cohesiveness, poor use of color. Obviously not a realistic/realism scene, but not abstract either, just a childish mish-mash I’d expect to see on a refrigerator in the projects. I think Mr. Hunter did a public service by removing this garbage that was left behind by someone.

Begs the question. . .Did Congressman Clay have the chutzpah to file a report with the police, the same organization maligned in such a disgusting manner by that 'piece of _____'?

“Theft” is described as the taking of the property of another with the intent to permanently deprive.
Please tell me where the intent to permanently deprive occurred in this matter.
