I have a Thailand built Ranger, are they going to export them to the USA.
Personally I hope so as it uses a Diesel Engine.
Ford made a real mistake when it dropped the Ranger back in 2011. I guess Ford wanted everyone to buy F150s. But not everyone wanted, or needed, a large truck. Ford just walked away from that customer base.
For example, I’ve been looking at the smaller Pepsi Co. delivery trucks in my area. They are all older Rangers.
At any rate, I have read elsewhere that the new American Ranger will be larger than the old one. That would kind of defeat the purpose of the Ranger. I hope what I read is wrong.
We were in DaNang in 2004. I was surprised to see a fancy Ford dealership there.
They had a really awesome Ranger pickup on the showroom floor.
I was told later (back in the States) that because of the 25% duty on imported small pickups, the small imported models were not available in the US.
It will be great to have a smaller pickup available. Overseas models are all rated at one ton (metric) load capacity - 2,200 lbs! They usually appear to be loaded heavier!

It’s a great truck... In the Philippines it’s offered with a 4cyl 2.2l diesel and a 5cyl 3.2l diesel... If they sell it in the US I’d buy one immediately .. it’s a “forever” kind of vehicle.

A Ranger with a little Yanmar Diesel would be awesome! Probably get 60 MPG
