All trump has to do is: force the Secret Service to hire his personal security, have the Sherrif of every county he visits deputize his personal security, or write an Executive Order stipulating that anyone on his personal payroll. who is not a convicted felon, and has his written permission to be armed, can act in his defense and be shielded from liability like any armed federal employee.

I we all Tweet Trump about this. We all think Clancy doesn’t know what Secret means, gives out operational secrets here. One thing I know is Trump himself states he has a NY City carry permit so, take a hint. Trump has made the shooter with the hand gesture that he would smoke you if you got nasty.

The cartels aren’t going to be thrilled about losing potentially hundreds of billions of dollars when Trump blocks most of their entries to the US.

I read this and am scratching my head at the outrage. The director gave out no tactically useful information. He set out to squelch rumors about friction with Trump’s team, in my opinion, he did.
None of the information provided, except for the fact that Trump’s private security is unarmed, is new or noteworthy. That particular fact is not particularly significant as:
1) it is already public knowledge that the Secret Service provides armed bodyguards for the President -elect, and that protection extends outward in layers to include heavy automatic weapons and shoulder fired surface to air missiles. (Which in itself is s form of deterrence)
2) Trump’s private security had a fundamentally different environment and mission. As a private citizen, Trump was not subject to same threat size, scope, and capability before his nomination and election as he is now. Few celebrities are assassinated, and those that are (Rebecca Schaffer and Christina Grimme come to mind) are attacked by deranged fans, a different type of threat than that faced by a President.
I just Tweeted to Trump, blabbing like Clancy did is outrageous, dangerous.
I suggest everyone also Tweet Trump we want him to stay safe for the next 8 years.
In reality, Trump can't trust anyone in all of Washington. Period, end of story.
