Good evening, Mac...*HUGS*...and a Blessed Lord’s Day to the MacNessa family.
Hope you’ve had a restful day.
My Mom is mostly sleeping so I was able to get several things done for me.

A good day, thanks. Mrs. MacNessa did yeoman work organizing, consolidating and stowing our Christmas decorations. We still have our Crèche and my Dickens village out.

Dear God: I ask that no Airman, Coast Guardsman, Marine, Sailor, Soldier, Reservist, National Guardsman, or Merchant Marine feel alone or forgotten.
O Israel, hope in the Lord; For with the Lord there is loving kindness, And with Him is abundant redemption. And He will redeem Israel From all his iniquities.

Put Down Your Burdens
January 8, 2017
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
Matthew 11:28
A man driving his pickup truck on a country track saw a woman carrying a heavy load, so he stopped and offered her a lift. The woman expressed her gratitude and climbed into the back of the truck.
A moment later, the man noticed a strange thing: the woman was still holding onto her heavy load despite sitting in the vehicle! Astonished, he pleaded, Please, Madam, put down your load and take your rest. My truck can carry you and your stuff. Just relax.
What do we do with the load of fear, worry, and anxiety we often carry as we go through life's many challenges? Instead of relaxing in the Lord, I sometimes behave like that woman. Jesus said, Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest (Matt. 11:28), yet Ive caught myself carrying burdens I should offload onto Jesus.
We put down our burdens when we bring them to the Lord in prayer. The apostle Peter says, Cast all your anxiety on [Jesus] because he cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). Because He cares for us, we can rest and relax as we learn to trust Him. Instead of carrying the burdens that weigh us down and weary us, we can give them to the Lord and let Him carry them.
Im tired, Lord. I bring You my burdens today. Please keep them and carry them for me.
Prayer is the place where burdens change shoulders.
A yoke pairs two animals together to pull a load. Often an older, stronger, well-trained animal is paired with a younger animal so that the younger can learn the proper method of pulling. It is the older, stronger animal that does the majority of the pulling while the younger follows along and mimics the actions of the older. As we set aside our burdens and take on Christs, we are not simply swapping one burden for another. It is His yoke. We set aside our lone burdens to pull with Jesus, who is the one responsible for the direction and primary force of moving the burden. Then each of us, as the younger, weaker, less-experienced partner learns from Jesus how to pull the burden, following His actions and mimicking His footsteps.

"I VOW TO THEE, my country, all earthly things above, Entire and whole and perfect, the service of my love; The love that asks no question, the love that stands the test, That lays upon the altar the dearest and the best; The love that never falters, the love that pays the price, The love that makes undaunted the final sacrifice.
And there's another country, I've heard of long ago, Most dear to them that love her, most great to them that know; We may not count her armies, we may not see her King; Her fortress is a faithful heart, her pride is suffering; And soul by soul and silently her shining bounds increase, And her ways are ways of gentleness, and all her paths are peace."

Oh no, ML...((HUGS))...is it snowing on most of the east coast? Maybe someone in your immediate area will bring a snow blower and help out.
I’m glad Penny doesn’t mind the snow...makes taking walks easier if you don’t have a beta blocker.
Can you get your hands on a small snow thrower, even a little electric one...for the immediate distress? Don’t hurt your back or your ankle.
A Blessed Lord’s Day and Shavua Tov to you and yours.
Stay safe and injury free.

No snowblowers in the community at all. And NO teenage boys to hire as far as I can see.
I guess I just have to do it by hand in small bits.
