Baltimore City’s Police Union is sounding the alarm because they say the department is in crisis due to the fact that it has too few officers.
According to a new report, there are more than 100 fewer Baltimore City PD officers than last year, with the union saying this poses a safety concern as officers are being overworked.
The police union president calls the situation “dire.”

You don’t have enough police officers to patrol the streets safely protecting themselves, much less protecting the citizens of Baltimore,” said Lt. Ryan.
Baltimore ended last year with the second highest number of murders per capita in the city’s history.

Both of my parents were born in Baltimore. My aunt still lives there, down by the harbor. After all that happened with the Freddy Gray incident, I’m surprised there are ANY police still in Baltimore. I would’ve expected them all to quit.

Solution: The rest of the cops should find work in other jurisdictions. Baltimore brought everything that’s happened there on themselves. Black Africans are a lot more civilized today than their American Ghetto cousins. I just wonder why anyone would want to be in law enforcement in a city that suborns criminal acts. If they had any brains they would have sent their idiot black mayor (Stephanie Rawlings-Blake) and that worthless racist black female prosecutor packing.

Hey pal, you need to change that to citizens of Baltimore City south to Washington DC. The rest of us are pretty normal and cling to our guns and religion.
In my county, the entire county government is republican. The Sheriff checks the citizenship status of every detainee. We went 59% for Trump.
Sadly, we are outnumbered by the brain dead libs in the heavily populated southern part of the state.

I don’t see police in my neighborhood, don’t see crime either. There must be something different about my neighborhood than Baltimore.
They would still get plenty of applications if the city was fiscally sound.
These are jobs with very good pay, excellent benefits and amazing pensions. All you need is a HS diploma.
But the new guys know the pensions are doomed. Especially 10-20 years into the future...
Let the Balto Police serve the business and upscale residential communities.

It’s not surprising in the least that they don’t have enough police. Perhaps they should have thought things out a little better in advance.
Yep - other than the inner harbor, right across from the old stadium, it deteriorates quickly in any direction you care to go.
So the union is suffering from the lack of revenue to the tune of 100 less dues paying members...follow the money.
