This is a no-win issue for Trump, and he may want to take a cue from the State Department's intransigence and walk away from it. It is so far down the list of priorities facing this country that it's almost disturbing to see it getting so much media attention.
“This is a no-win issue for Trump”. I have heard that so many times and he still ends up winning.
Sometimes doing the right thing seems like a no-win, but good leaders will do the right thing anyway. Not everything is about winning or losing.
I respectfully disagree. I think moving the embassy will send an incredibly powerful message on a number of fronts: it would signal that Trump's departure from the status quo is for real; it will signal that Trump will not accept the Left's toleration of any terrorism, even politically correct terrorism such as that perpetrated by Palestinians; it will signal to the Palestinians that there is no future in their society's widespread toleration and celebration of terrorism; it will drive the Left, inside and outside of the USA absolutely nuts; and probably many other reasons. I agree that it is not the top priority but I think it would be good move and one that should be made promptly.
