(Washington Examiner) At any given time the United States has an aircraft carrier deployed somewhere around the world, usually in a hot spot such as the Persian Gulf or the Western Pacific.
But for the first week of this year, for the first time since World War II, no U.S. aircraft carriers were deployed, anywhere, a Navy spokesman confirmed. The USS Dwight D. Eisenhower had been in the Persian Gulf, contributing airpower to the counter-Islamic State campaign in Iraq and Syria. But it returned to its homeport of Norfolk, Va., on Dec. 30, after a seven-month deployment. And none of the Navys nine other aircraft carriers was on deployment.
Your are correct, however Obama is simply the puppet, you must look to the puppet masters who pull his strings, behind the scene, to understand what transpires.
I was saying to my daughter yesterday that I fear for Israel the most in these next couple of weeks. The enemies of Israel know full well that an attack on Israel will NOT be met with any response from America. Having no ships there certainly gives them a good excuse.
This has happened before from what I have read, and is not that out of ordinary.
Thanks for a accurate source.
Hard to believe.
That was my question. Why?
This is a “come at me bro” dare. Give your foe a bat and putting your sack outside open for a target is mighty suspicious.
The subs go on deployment with the carrier groups.. For instance, my husband’s sub was attached to the George Washington.
They broke off sometimes and did their thing but they were still attached to that group.
My son is on a carrier. Left on deployment yesterday. Jan 5th falls within the first week of this year.
This story is much ado about nothing. The big CV fleet carriers are not the only means of projecting force.
In an era of reduced military capability, there will be more ‘holes’ for quite awhile.
Haha...well I am glad my voice to text error provided you with that joke opportunity.
Virginia, Washington, San Diego and Japan can be hit hard enough to disable big carriers at the same time?
Chuckle
Russia and France have more aircraft carriers deployed at this time than we do.
If you want to know where any US Navy ship is just ask Dominoes Pizza.
I’ll bet our SSNs, SSGNs, and SSBNs were on station. In truth, carriers are quickly becoming very expensive targets. The Ford doesn’t work, nor do the DDG-1000 or LCS. Foreign navies with SSKs and long-range supersonic missiles have greatly reduced the survivability of our fleet.
I don’t think you should be telling us this.
Aircraft carries are a vital part of the US Navy and will never become obsolete. Why? Unless you can come up with a better way to maintain air superiority over huge swaths of ocean then the CVBG is here to stay.
It was nearly 30 yrs ago and it’s not a secret.
