Sen. Ted Cruz told Washington, DC radio host Larry OConnor Wednesday that Donald Trump is filling his cabinet with all-star conservatives.
The Texas Republican noted that Republicans have been handed a historic opportunity to do a great deal of good in repealing the disaster that is Obamacare.
It was one of the fundamental reasons why I ran for the Senate and promised the people of Texas that I would fight everyday to repeal Obamacare, he continued. I cannot tell you how gratifying it is to see us on the verge of delivering on that promise.
Cruz then pointed to the president-elects cabinet nominations, and I tell you that I have been really pleased and really impressed with President-elect Trump.
This is a serious cabinet, a cabinet of highly qualified individuals, and it is a cabinet of strong conservatives, Cruz added. The president-elect should be commended for bringing together a team of all-stars.
I think that bodes really well for the commitment to carry through on the promises we made.

I'm not a big fan of Senator Cruz, but I'll be the first to give him his due for these comments. He is right on the money, and it's refreshing to hear him say it.
Uh, I thought it was racist, nazi, women hating miscreants who only are in it to enrich themsleves. No? Oh, and they hate is-lame too for good measure.
If Trump is filling his cabinet with all-stars, why do I keep hearing Mark Levin bitching about his appointments?
I did vote my conscience, Sen. Cruz, for Trump!
[Conservative ‘All-Stars’]
That’s right Ted... notice your not one of them??
If Trump had courted conservatives, it would have scared the dems crossing over for him and we would have lost.
It was a tough primary. I am glad we are together. Cruz has great talent and capability. He stood in there to filibuster funding communist health care ( as did Senator Paul) but weak vacillating republicrats like oral Hatch and Kirk and the Collins woman and Boehner and his butt boys like Cantor funded obamacare no less than 5 damned times!! For which many of the above are GONE!!
Which only serves to point out what an ass he was all year refusing to flame on at some point and push Trump for all it was worth, against HILLARY CLINTON!
Tead was dead wrong about Trump, and is thus reduced to being an absolute fool, who still to this moment can’t grasp what a moron he conducted himself like.
No endorsement at the convention.
Only spending parts of two days in all the time after the convention?
Now he has something positive to say? Too little and too freaking late.
Drop ded Tead.
Ted may well be Trumps greatest supporter in the Senate—let us hope he has seen the light and will not only hop on the Trump Train but also shovel coal into the firebox to make it roll faster! The future may well see the two working together to save America.
Yes, but please don’t try to tell that to Tead.
Trump is a Leftist Tead couldn’t endorse, but could vote for.
Go figure...
Cruz Was my guy in the beginning. He then went off the rails once he competed against Trump. I was disappointed in Cruz and realized he was too immature at this time to be president.
He seems to be correcting his lapses in judgement and should make a great conservative force in the Senate. Whether he is ever capable of being president is debatable. But the good he can do in the Senate might make him more valuable there.
Ted Cruz probably cost Trump CO and NV.
Thanks for nothing Ted.
Because Mark Levin is still butt-hurt that we did not nominate the Cubanadian.
How does it feel to be locked outside of the candy store because you threw a fit & stomped your feet? Remind you of when you were 3 years old, Lyn’ Ted?
Levin should do something more productive like advocating Cruz run for SCOTUS then.
I can’t see Ted being President, but I can see him making the lives of Sotomayor, Kagan, and Ginsburg a living hell.
Cubanadians are not eligible to be President.
Expect Donald and Ted to be working shoulder-to-shoulder publicly soon.
I was disappointed that Cruz seemed quite petty in his lack of support for Trump. The cynic in me says he’s only doing this now to advance his potential as a Supreme Court nominee, but comes a time when you either take people at their word or get better than I am at mind-reading. I don’t think the personality issues that turned many away from him in the primary are necessarily disqualifiers for the SCOTUS, nor do I think he’s the only or best qualified candidate for future openings.
I do not want to see Cruz on the Supreme Court in a position to render a decision that a child born to an American mother and a Palestinian father in Saudi Arabia is a natural born citizen eligible to be President, forever gutting the protections of the natural born citizen clause.
