Four days after Ronda Rouseys highly anticipated comeback went exactly the way she had not planned, fight fans and insiders are still discussing what went wrong for the 29-year-old. How did the fighter, who had 411 days to shore up her striking skills, allow womens bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes to land 27 punches and beat her in a technical knockout 48 seconds into the fight?

I haven’t seen a woman take such a beating since election night 2016.
Women fighting each other for public spectacle simply means American culture and society is in rapid decline.
When this country crashes, burns and destroys itself, please don’t blame the Russians, Chinese, or anyone else. Those are the ones who will simply take advantage of our own self-destruction.
Kind of like taking a knife to a gun fight?
They are athletes. It’w what they want to do, so they are going to do it. End of story.
Please take up some other pursuit Rhonda, you’re too beautiful to get beat on.
“..I havent seen a woman take such a beating since election night 2016.”
Well put. I think Rousey has a strong following like Hitlery and she did get beaten badly. Very similar match-ups. (chuckle)
if someone is going to fight in the UFC they need to know ALL the disciplines of fighting necessary to beat every opponent- all this picking and choosing just the right opponents is nonsense- rousey isn’t a boxer- at least not yet- and she lost as a result- she can either adapt or fade away like Gracie did- Gracie lost to someone more rounded and skilled than he was in fighting disciplines that one needs for maintaining a championship position- Matt Hughes took on all comers (judo- boxers- wrestlers’ etc etc etc) and dominated for awhile- Randy Couter fought all comers- All the old fighters did- mostly- the ones who couldn’t adapt went by the wayside because they weren’t as skilled as those who did adapt-
Serves her right for all the things she said about Trump.
Her coach and the UFC knew this was going to happen. Otherwise, they would have given her a warmup match against a lower ranked opponent. They decided to give her one last payday. Maybe she’ll be back for a grudge match against Holly Holmes, like what they did with Gracie/Shamrock back in the day.
Call me a sexist all you want, but what are women doing in a prize fight in the first place?
Yes, Rhonda can do movies just fine. I like the Stallone movies (Expendables) where she played a role in one of them and did well. I really doubt she will return to MMA, but you never know.
And if we choose to watch it, we suck. End of story.
Her entire camp needs to be replaced, and she needs to fire her own arrogance.
She either adapts and evolves, or she becomes extinct as an MMA fighter.
That being said, she is never going to beat Nunes at striking. She has to come from another angle.
I agree with you. There were and are unique gems of civilization in the American experience, but our present dominant culture is degenerate, stupid, and wicked.
karate guys used to come to our boxing gym. They would have killed me with their legs but without them they were at best an even match.
Your opinion.
I’ll watch.
Re: your 1st post. Yes. They have different core disciplines, but, from what I remember, Rousey didn’t even shoot.
Am I right?
I am just curious, which female sports would it be o.k. to watch?
Is female soccer too physical and masculine for “good” people to watch? How about fencing? Golf? Wrestling? Football? Field hockey?
I want to make sure that I am a good, moral person so I need to know which sports I should condone women participating in. Please enlighten me.
Not so much. There are plenty of average strikers in MMA (perhaps not as bad a Rhonda) who still thrive on account of their grappling and take down skills. Current mens #1 UFC lightweight contender Khabib Nurmagomedov is a perfect example. In his last fight his sub par striking was badly exposed by a very good opponent, but once Khabib was able to take the guy to the floor it was light's out. The dude is an absolute beast on the floor. Granted, Rhonda's boxing deficiencies were downright amateur night - no footwork, no head movement, no ring movement and no defense. The trouble is she clearly hadn't trained in taking down a better striking opponent to the floor where she might have had a chance. That was the coach's biggest blunder in my opinion, not schooling Rhonda in take downs. Given how bad Rhonda's striking skills are she was NEVER gong to become a proficient boxer in just 8 or 9 months.
