(CNN) President Barack Obama will deliver his farewell address to the nation on January 10 from his home city of Chicago, the President announced in a statement Monday.
"I'm thinking about them as a chance to say thank you for this amazing journey, to celebrate the ways you've changed this country for the better these past eight years, and to offer some thoughts on where we all go from here," Obama wrote.
President Obama said he was following the precedent set by George Washington, who penned a farewell address to the American people over 220 years ago.

I will not watch or listen to anything said by the man who tried to destroy this country and give it to muzzards.
I won’t be listening, or watching.
Let’s see. I have avoided listening to any speech by him for the last eight years. Should I break that streak? Nahhhh!
It will skyrocket even further after his speech, as he will likely plant the seeds of continued civil unrest and the disruption of "a still unjust system". One that "fought him for 8 years from the shadows, but is now beginning to show it's face in the light of day"
Of course all of this will be wrapped in gentle tones and heartfelt concern about the "still unheard voices who pray for justice."
But make no mistake, this speech will likely be more of a call to arms than an expression of gratitude and appreciation for the opportunity to serve this great nation.
He is a vile leftist and all they know is to destroy things they don't understand.

George Washington knew what a natural born citizen was and that Obama, being a British subject at birth, was not one and is ineligible to be President.

The community organizer did so much for Chicago. He even got 911 there so ambulances could reach the drive bys before everyone bled out.... or not. In 1989, at least 28 Chicago suburbs didn’t have 911. The putz did nothing for the murder capital of Chicago.

Just like he’s “renting” a home in D.C. two doors down from Tony Podesta which is being decorated by Michael Smith who decorated the WH and all his other homes. That’s how Smith’s boyfriend, Costos, got appointed the Ambassador to Spain. Speaking of which, Malia was supposed to intern with Costos this last summer but she was running wild and doing drugs too much to do that. Will she be sober enough to snuggle up with daddykins at the inauguration or will she be indisposed, again?
